YOUNG PEOPLE AND AMR-Our AMR Champions; Antibiotics cannot treat the flu-Shadia Karambeki

Most people have been misusing antibiotics to treat viral infections like the flu. This has been fueling antibiotic resistance. This has further increased amid COVID-19. The RBA Initiative has been educating the community to not misuse antibiotics to treat the flu. This has been one of the topics taught to school children (youth) as part of its RBA Initiative’s AMR school clubs.

"I have learnt different things that can help in educating others and the community at large. I am happy being in this club because I am learning different things. For example, antibiotics can not be used to treat the flu. " Shadia Karambeki, one of the AMR club members in the Dodoma region told the RBA Initiative during an interview.
