OUR AMR CHAMPIONS; I am now completing the entire course-Joram's story

Erick Peter Joram(15) is one of the RBA Initiative AMR school club members. He recently revealed the positive changes he has attained after attending the RBA Initiatives AMR school clubs. "There are some behaviors that I was practicing, but I have changed after attending the club program. For example, I was not completing the entire course. Every time I felt well, I stopped taking the medicine, including the antibiotics, but I am now completing the entire course.

Through the RBA Initiative AMR school clubs, school children are developed to become AMR agents of change who transform key AMR messages to the whole community.

Erick feels he now knows to make better decisions and keep himself safe. ‘I normally wash my hands before and after meals, but now I am more sensitive. I wash my hands every time I feel contaminated. I have also educated my family on the importance of hand hygiene. "

Erick was part of the recruited club members at Mkonze secondary school in the Dodoma region, Tanzania. His wish is to see many school children get the chance to learn about AMR and become agents of change. "I am aware of antimicrobial resistance and its consequences. My wish is to see every child get this knowledge. I am happy that I am now an ambassador to fellow students, my family, and the community at large, "he added.
